On Wednesday 2 November 2011, Christ Church will present a special Requiem Mass to commemorate All Souls Day. This very special service is an opportunity to celebrate the memory of loved ones who have gone before us in to the everlasting light of God's presence.

This year marks the four-hundredth anniversary of the death of the Spanish composer Tomás Luis de Victoria. As a tribute to this great composer, the choir will perform Victoria's Officium defunctorum during the service. This musical setting of the Requiem, published in 1605, is widely considered to be Victoria's greatest masterpiece.

If you would like the names of loved ones to be read out during the service, please contact the parish office, or add the names of your loved ones to the list currently available at the back of the church.

The service will start at 7PM, and guarded parking will be available on the church close and the section of Pretorius Street between Christ Church and the Venning Park Rosarium.
